Seniors in the Kirksville and surrounding area, now is the time to book your senior video package. Take senior portraits to the next level. You (and your friends?) will star in a video shoot for the “music video” part of your package. Also included are local shots of you at your location choices and a “growing up” photo montage, which can include your photos and a few of your old “home movie” clips. Today I had a video shoot with three senior girls as part of their Senior Video Package. We went to 1000 Hills State Park in Kirksville, MO where the trees are beginning their colorful exit into Winter. The day was warm for late October, but the wind was more like March. We got some great shots and I am anxious to get these videos put together, which will be in early May, before graduation parties (as these are all school year in the making). The three girls are friends, so much of the footage will be suitable for all three videos.
Today’s shoot was one component of the Senior Video package offered by The Video Scribe. The Senior Video can include still photos (growing up montage), past “home movies,” video from special events throughout the year, birthday parties, best friends, sporting events, band concerts, interviews, and whatever else the senior might like to include. These videos take senior portraits to the next level and make great additions to the graduation reception.

Editing: I started editing Ken and Shirley’s 50th wedding anniversary video Saturday. Their party was last week, in Memphis, MO. I plan to incorporate a few elements from their anniversary slide show into this video. I hope to be finished before the end of September, as this is now a “rush” request.
Capturing to computer: I am still capturing footage for Walt and Dawn’s wedding video. It would have been in editing by now, had I not had to put a rush on the Elliott Anniversary project, due to health reasons.

Today was Kenneth and Shirley’s 50th wedding anniversary party. I had the honor of shooting the event and will edit the footage and create a DVD for them. I work with their daughter, so I already knew her, but I got to meet their two sons and many others in their family. They are a great bunch of people and all very nice.
The slide show I made for the occasion was playing in one area of the room (looping) and many people saw it and made nice comments to me about it. I am glad they all enjoyed it. A condensed version of the slide show can be seen here.

Last night I finished production and packaging for Dick and Rene’s 25th wedding anniversary slide show. I didn’t have a lot of notice to do the job, but I am on vacation this week, so I have had plenty of time to get it put together and I really enjoyed doing it for them.

I registered the name of my business, The Video Scribe, with the Secretary of State last evening. I am registered as a “sole proprietorship”. I still need to go to City Hall for a business license. I am planning to go next week when I have some days off.
There are many steps involved in starting a new business. Mine is one of the easier ones to start because it is of the “sole proprietor” variety. Beyond that, there is still the constant research about video cameras, microphones, pricing, websites and event videography in general.
I am going to shoot a (two-camera) wedding this Saturday. It was short notice and the bride and groom don’t want anyone on the stage - just an unmanned camera. I will be at the back of the church with the other camera. This should be interesting. I don’t know if they want any editing or not.
I was also asked to do a slide show for a dear couple’s 25th wedding anniversary. I am happy about this one and can’t wait to get started. I hope business will always be this… well, busy!
