And The Winner Is…

March 1, 2008

Last Sunday’s Bridal Expo at Silver Rails Event center in La Plata, MO was a success. I have drawn a winner from the pool of names who signed up, and will contact the winning couple today. In addition to a gift basket of goodies, the couple will receive 10% off any wedding videography package I offer.

Wedding packages range in comprehensiveness from a very basic, ceremony only coverage, to full-day coverage of your ceremony, reception, and other events of the day. The more inclusive packages feature add-on options such as The Bride Getting Ready Montage, and The Love Story Interview.

If you are planning a wedding in the Kirksville or surrounding area, contact The Video Scribe for wedding videography that uniquely and creatively captures your special day.

Seniors 2008

November 9, 2007

seniors

Seniors in the Kirksville and surrounding area, now is the time to book your senior video package. Take senior portraits to the next level. You (and your friends?) will star in a video shoot for the “music video” part of your package. Also included are local shots of you at your location choices and a “growing up” photo montage, which can include your photos and a few of your old “home movie” clips. A popular idea is to have a group of friends get together for the shoot. Book the package that is right for you.

Autumn Leaves Means Outdoor Video Shoot

September 23, 2007

It is Autumn in Kirksville, MO and the leaves will be turning soon. That means the time is near for shooting senior videos. Once the leaves are just right, I will take a break from editing wedding video and go to Forest Lake at 1000 Hills State Park for some outdoor shooting of my seniors.

This year, I have three seniors who will be making senior videos. The shoot at 1000 Hills is just one component of their senior video.

Anniversary Video and Wedding Video in the Queue

September 23, 2007

Editing: I started editing Ken and Shirley’s 50th wedding anniversary video Saturday. Their party was last week, in Memphis, MO. I plan to incorporate a few elements from their anniversary slide show into this video. I hope to be finished before the end of September, as this is now a “rush” request.

Capturing to computer: I am still capturing footage for Walt and Dawn’s wedding video. It would have been in editing by now, had I not had to put a rush on the Elliott Anniversary project, due to health reasons.

Event Videography

September 20, 2007

From The Video Scribe:

Why hire a videographer to capture your special event?

quoteMemories fade. Videos linger.

Your family heritage is important. Video tells a story pictures can’t. When you hire an event videographer, you invest in your cherished memories. The result is a multimedia presentation rich in the sights and sounds of your special event, one which you will pass on with pride to your children’s children, knowing it will last a century.

I do wedding and other event videography as well as slide shows in Kirksville and the surrounding area. Slide shows are the perfect addition for viewing at your special event, such as wedding reception, anniversary, or family reunion. In addition, I can archive your older photographs or home movies. Sometimes, home video is “boring” to watch, why not let me edit some of the highlights into a family DVD production you will be proud of?

Walt & Dawn

September 2, 2007

I watched a little footage taken at Walt and Dawn’s wedding yesterday with the unmanned camera. When her father gave the bride away, you can see him but not the bride (the groom was in the line of sight). When everyone is on stage, the action is a little too far to the right. It is going to be difficult to edit any cutaways into this wedding. I hope I have enough B-roll footage to help out. It was a nice wedding and the reception locale, Jackson Stables, was perfect.

Open For Business

August 24, 2007

I can’t wait any longer. I am officially debuting my new website, www.thevideoscribe.com. This is the online home of my freelance video production business, The Video Scribe.

I am sure the site will receive many updates and changes from what it is now, but I want to go ahead and get the word out, “I am open for business.”

The Story Board page is where I will put samples of my work. Right now, there are only two samples, but more are on the way.

I still want to purchase a semi-pro camera, but haven’t even come close to saving the $3,500.00 I will need for the Canon I want.

Please visit thevideoscribe.com and tell your friends and family about it.
